You hear it all the time, but many of us ignore it. The best way to succeed is to take ACTION NOW! A bit of background about myself. I started promoting my first Clickbank product Christmas Eve via a blog, a Squidoo, and a few articles (3). It quickly started making money ($7000 since then, or roughly $300+/week). I was happy with this and got LAZY!! Friday I decided to take ACTION. I wrote up a quick product overview/review/guide blog in a different niche, and wrote a few articles and submitted SLIGHTLY rewritten versions to GoArticles and EZarticles. Social bookmarked all blog posts and articles on Digg and Propeller. Of course, GoArticles don't require acceptance. I averaged 16 website visitors per day over the weekend from them, and Saturday got my first $30+ sale! Today, My EZineArticles were accepted. One got a few hits, and the other, so far in JUST 4 hours, has had 97 views, 37 Clicks, and made 1 $30+ Sale!! So all in all I spent about 3 hours on the entire project. I've made $62+ so far and I'm sure eventually these articles and possibly the blog will get Google indexed, if they haven't already. I plan to spend another couple hours tonite/tomorrow writing 5 more quality articles, and that will basically be the campaign. Even if I only get a sale or two a week for the next 6-12 months, thats a steady income on autopilot. When I see blog traffic drop, I'll write 1 new post and submit 1 new article. Anyways, the moral is, taking action really works. I am NOT a guru, in fact, I don't even consider myself good at this. When it comes to IM, I know a little about a lot, but a lot about nothing If I can do it, so can you!
This is so true. You've got to do something to get started. I read so many websites, so many forums and never did anything about it. Now that I've taken action I've started actually making money. Not a ton mind you, but it is a great start and makes me wonder why I didn't do this before. Take action everyone!
anarmyofme, A while back I did have a page on FatLoss4Idiots and never really did any good. I had no interest in the niche, and it was super competetive which basically made it difficult and no fun to promote. That lense made a total of 1 sale! That is not to say you should stay away from competetive markets as thats what I'm promoting now, and the little guy CAN succeed no matter what the gurus say. Just make sure you at least have some interest in it if you go that route. An update on my article submitted 4 hours and 45 minutes ago: Article Views: 104 Clicks: 41 I'm thrilled with this. A good click rate (40%) and a lot of views. I'm THINKING this may be in google already, but I'm not sure. The traffic just seems to high to only be coming from EZArticles searches. Feel free to ask me any questions - I don't bite. Jim
Exactly Drunkseo, and I'd take that one step further and say you have to put your lack of knowledge into action as well. Learn by doing. These boards are a great resource to learn principals of the business, but they will NOT teach you how to actually do it. You have to try and learn for your own by trial and error. Jim
you hit the nail on the head. I have so many ideas and projects listed on my notes, and never do anything. I guess I have to start taking action as well thanks for reminding me. rep added
Hexinator, Make a schedule: Tuesday - Choose Niche (Get in a good niche, that has traffic, and you will enjoy - DO NOT overanalyze) Wednesday - Create a Blogger blog with your main keywords in the URL and make three posts Thursday - Submit 3 or 4 articles to a few article directories, including Ezine Articles Friday - Make a Squidoo Lense for your niche and link you Squidoo and Blog together. Weekend - Social Bookmark as much as you can. Thats basically an hour or two of work per day (probably not much more than the time you spend overthinking things and reading these boards??) You'll make a sale - trust me
I have to agree that the fat loss 4 idiots niche is very competitive. yet with the help of g-d i will be first page in a few weeks thank you for a good thread.
Hex, It is tough... My biggest holdup is step 2 as well. Once I get past that, I love working on traffic buiding, article, writing, etc... and examining how everything I do affects my stats. I'm a numbers guy, so I love analyzing the effects of everything I do to both the bottom line and visitors to the blog, etc.... When I need the boost to tackle step 2, I usually think of something I really want in the future that the cash would help with (a vacation, new car, money in savings, etc.) and work towards it. Jim
Yes it is roy, like I said though, you can certainly tackle it if you want. I simply had no ambition in that niche, and with the little work I put in, I did make 1 sale.... Jim
Good work dude I'm basically doing the same now and having great success!! making 200 a day on average with 3 products and sometimes I'm selling poroducts I've not done work for!! Its all about diverisfying people and spending 2 - 3 hours a day wrking new niches, its that easy!!
ehh... been taking action. Been persevering... No sales yet though. Glad to hear you guys are having some success.
This is really true. You must strive to learn, take action on what you learn and experiment yourself, not take action from what someone else tell you to.But it just about learning, improving skills and ofcourse taking a lot action.
Update this morning on my article that went live yesterday: Views: 281 Clicks: 108 I'd like my clickthrough ratio to be a bit higher, but overall happy with the results for just about 18 hours live so far.... Jim
Great post, this is something that I struggled with for the longest time. When I finally started taking action, the dough started rolling in.
bravo ... you have kept some fellow marketers motivated and determind. Until I took action myself and did the work x 10 I only saw a few inconsistent sales after that everything changed for the better.
