Why you should stay away from forums while dealing with CB

Just wanted to give fellow marketeers a recap of my 2010.

Initially I was hanging out on this and several other clickbank forums, trying to find ways to make money -- as an affiliate or a vendor.

It was fun to exchange ideas, make deals, etc. However it wasn't making that much money.

So I left and started thinking for myself, not relying on other people's ideas.

So my advice for everyone for 2011: leave the box, get a white board and start thinking for YOURSELF. You'll be surprized on what obviously easy ways you'll find to make money. Stop listening to others on the forum, because if you're really making good money, you'll never share the ways with others. I also won't share anything because everyone will jump on it. However, I believe there are many more easy ways to make money on CB, you just need to think outside the box.

    Happy New Year!

I think basically what you are trying to say is to stay away from CB forums for a short time. And give your self a time to rethink and restructure your thoughts. When you give your self some time and when you are in a lonely place you will get some stunning ideas. But You have to return to forums again to test your ideas or just to collect other people's new ideas.

Do not stay away from forums just reply to others question and leave back a signature with a link to your website and collect their email id for future advertisement, the leads you get from forums are extremely targeted.

UMMM... your comment have some points BUT might not be the best possible advice for everyone..

Spending time in forums is very useful but one MUST NOT overdo it. Always leave plenty of time for you to work, and leave forums for when you have nothing else to do or simply are looking for new ideas.

Always take forum posts with a pinch of salt:

    - While a few people do post useful information, many more post stuff that is totally misleading to say the least.

    - What works for Person A might not work for Person B (Everyone have a different background, Example: someone good at writing articles (and keyword research) will tell you that writing articles will make you money, but will not work for an individual that does not knows anything about keyword research)

So, forums can be very useful to get ideas from time to time - but if you end up hanging in forums for too long it will kill your efforts because you will waste your time trying everyone's ideas and not focusing on anything useful.

I think these forums are perfect for beginners. However, browsing aimlessly through all the threads may be the sign that you're trying to avoid doing the work required to make money.

Agree - spend less time on the forums, theyre all rubbish, and seem to be VERY HEAVILY populated by people who aren't making money and don't know what theyre talking about... even asking a question and getting answers off people... theyre quite likely to be rubbish, from idiots.... not answers that will lead you in the right direction..

Post less, and take more action, you can very easily get wrapped up in these forums... I did last year too, and 99% of my money came not from posting here, but from other activities, my 2011 is going to be much less forum based, and I believe 2011 is going to be a very big year...

Oh, the one bit I disagree with is this:

You'd be suprised at how much people JUST DON'T jump on things, or maybe theyll dip their feet in with your solid methods and advice, but just wont see them through, will give up when not seeing instant results etc...

Remember that when you are willing to help others is when you get things in return. I don't help people for that reason, but it does come back to you.
Its all about keeping a balance. Like others have said you have to keep your forum activity to a minimum so that you get done what you need to get done.

I think forums are not best for beginners (at least in the internet marketing/affiliate marketing arena), but it can be a good source when you join a forum after you have gained some knowledge in the field, and then you can
easily see through who are giving good answers.

Since anyone can post reply here, you have to be selective, to choose the best answer(s), and you can do so only after gaining some knowledge in the specific area.
