we ll i own http://www.petitionspot.com and i am ranked good in MSN and Google. But yahoo is not taking up my pages in to their search. for now they have taken up my home page only. Right now i am having 40000 unique visitors per day on the site. IMP: i keep my site out of engines for a while when i was upgrading it. Now i have allowed engines to crawl it. and yahoo did nothing for the last 20 day's can you please look and suggest me how to get crawled early. my site is the am the best petition site on internet. With lot of features. No black hat SEO done ever.
well i have added the yahoo sitemap and also have account with yahoo site explorer. So i believe they must be crawling my site. As they have my home page in the engine but they are not ranking it anywhere not even for the keyword "petitionspot" it only come for this link http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=petitionspot.com&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz2 Well how can i learn that yahoo is crawling my site or not ..?
Try going through http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html Yahoo will come back around eventually if you want to wait, but the above method may work too.
Your site takes about 30 seconds to download on a 56 K modem. That might be too long for search engines. Taking the arrow off every link on the page (which isn't needed when they're not drop downs) will really help to reduce HTML (currently 59K) and also loading the page. Also you have mega links on your page. I would reduce the featured petitions to about 10 each. You have your css tag in the HTML instead of head. You have more than one body tag and multiple other errors. Cleaning up your code may fix your problem.
