Hey Guys, Yahoo Keyword Search per Day Shows huge Visits but why it does not send any traffic. My Website ranks #1 on Yahoo for a keyword which has 200 visits per day according to yahoo search results. But i recieve not more than a click, where in my website ranks #3 on MSN for the same keyword and it clicks away more than 100 visits.. why this difference... ???????????? can any one??????????????????????????????????????? --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strange, I know. I have a #2 rank in Yahoo for a pretty popular term but my site doesn't seem to get much traffic from it either. I know more people are using Google but there are still tons of folks on Yahoo.
Yahoo is planning on releasing a new search engine soon. Hopefully, this will get rid of the problem.
It depends on the keywords in question. MSN, Yahoo, and Google all have a different demographic audience. I usually receive FAR more traffic from Yahoo than MSN, but it depends more on the niche than the ranking it seems.
That is strange. Overture keyword tool is supposed to show the actual search counts. May be your competitors site which is ranked to next to you on yahoo is more popular among surfers. Or may be you should wait for a couple of months before you actually compare the amount of traffic from yahoo and MSN.
when i was in school i would use yahoo but now i only use google yahoo has to do something to catch up with google.
yes yahoo is having some probs.my site is 8th and i dont get traffic wher as in goole it is 19th still i get more traffic from google
I agree with 1EightT, it's about demographic audience.I've noticed that, for some markets, Yahoo definitely brings in more traffic than MSN and for others, MSN outranks Yahoo as the traffic provider.
yes....they better fix it soon I'm ranked 2nd in google for a competitive word which gets 80k+ searches a month and i've only got a handful of searches where as in google i'm 5th and i get tons more...yahoo should really look into updating their search engine.
Maiby you are using a diferent Yahoo Datacenter..also notice that Yahoo is using cookies and can always show you on #1 your favorite websites ...
I get more traffic on yahoo than google and msn put together on some sites and on some terms that are similarly ranked. It's a mystery to me.
One of my websites rank very low for a keyword, but it is still receiving about 10 visitors per day from yahoo. It is opposite with what you're facing.
I have a site that is #1 in both Yahoo and MSN. MSN sends 2-3 times the traffic and it converts at 2x the rate of Yahoo. My target audience is not technically savy (at all). I assume most use MSN because it is the default search engine when they buy a PC. Google still sends the most, but MSN definitely beats out Yahoo.
ya many net users preffer yahoo then msn so the traffic will be huge for yahoo compared to msn so that this may occur
hmmm.. interesting. I also have two sites that are either #1 or #2 in all 3 engines yet I get more traffic from Yahoo than I do MSN.
