I've noticed the option to put a hold on your account, so Google keeps your money.... https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-ww-et-asui&medium=link Why would anyone want to do that? Surely the money is better in your bank account rather than Googles?
Good question, the only real reason i can think of is big companys might use it (Myspace ect) and they might want to control their incoming money more accuratly - say twice a year they will release the funds and include it into that years tax return, or something like that anyway.
Sometimes you are not at home to receive your cheque. Sometimes you want a bigger paycheck to arrive. Sometimes you are shifting to another location and cheque might be shipped to your old place.
Not everyone lives in the USA. Sometimes you might want to postpone a payout if the exchange rate is (dollar -> local currency) is poor. Maybe you are getting a divorce (or something similar) and don't want money siting unnecessarily in your bank account, waiting to be split.
Here are a few more ideas: - To push the payment into another tax year. - If you happen to be collecting unemployment insurance, any payments are deducted from the amount you receive in any given week. - If you are applying for student load / grant you might want to lower your income until you are approved. - I think a divorce was mentioned previously but that is another good one.
You might be leaving adsense and switching to something more profitable ! You may then want to hold the payment until you have switched so that you will receive all of you money and not have $98 sitting there earning interest for google!
Well, I would do that if I have too much money around and just want my AdSense earning to accumulate.
if you are on vacation/out of country - unable to receive check / WU payment if you move from country/city A to B and want to make sure address and new PIN is processed properly before any new payment gets lost
i know for me I hold mine til its a decent amount because when i try and cash check in australia they charge me $10 just to process it.
