Why would yahoo drop a bunch of pages after a server move???

We moved servers and it seems like yahoo dropped a bunch of my sub domain pages after the move. I was getting more traffic from yahoo then google since my site is fairly new and I have not done a lot of link building. Why would yahoo do this after a server move?

 

I might take them a while to find the new ip number

 

Even though there are still 4 pages indexed?

 

Yes give it time.

Also submit new sitemap to Yahoo and 301 redirect if any addresses changed.

if you did not loose any backlinks, i'm sure that Y will index your pages again

 

It is a good idea to go to Yahoo site explorer and verify the site! You can just go to the site and you can upload an HTML file and they usually verify it within 48 hours which will bring your pages back alot quicker!

This will not hurt a thing but it will be good for your rank with Yahoo!
