I just became a member of dreamhost and it so rocks and considering that it has soo much bandwidth and space i wouldnt need a virtual server anyways...was wondering if im right on this cos the next site im launching will kindof be taking too much bandwidth and i was thinking of vps but not anymore...what do you guys think? Am i going wrong somewhere?

Or for people who want reliability and stability without worrying about what other people sharing the server are up to.

I could probably host my sites on shared servers, but I wont as I need reliability.

I also like the fact that I get full root access to the server.

share hosting is great unless you need to install things on the server i.e. gdimage. VPS will let you install things if you got SSH access.. once you outgrown VPS because of traffic or disk space or speed of CPU, then you will need dedicated as you are in the big boy league.

I have adviced clients before that to get a VPS even if they have dedicated so that they can have a fall back position.. to have the most important sites on the VPS and take a copy or mirror the db, then if your box is going down for whatever reason, you can still go on in limited capacility.
