why would google roll back to a previous indexed version of my site?

    Hi all,

Up untill a week ago when I launched my new site, google had the following indexed for my domain (was used for my photos and various other bits and pieces):

    [DIR] Parent Directory 26-Aug-2006 12:24 - [DIR] arlesimages/ 07-Aug-2006 17:11 - [DIR] bradsbirthday/ 22-Jun-2006 16:49 - [DIR] cgi-bin/ 30-May-2006 13:53 ...

Then, when my new site went live a week ago, it got crawled, and indexed about 5 or 6 pages of the new site. It was even number 4 for a couple of my keywords.

But now, it seems to have rolled back to the old site with the description listed as above.

I'm a bit confused! Can someone explain why this would happen?

    Thanks, Matt

There's different datacenters at google each with a little bit of different information (including different cache dates...that are all cycling and updating....but some datacenters might have older caches than others)....over time your old pages and older caches will be replaced....think of it as several computers each updating things on different times.

Since June this end of the month roll back seems normal to me.
