Why would google do this to me! why??!!!

So, I created a nice little niche site a few years back... I added really good conent, got back links etc. I finally ranked fourth on google for a pretty popular search term. I made around five to ten bucks a day for over a year. Today I look... my traffic has dropped to nearly nothing. Google decided to un index my homepage??? But it didn't un index any of my other pages... It still has pr4 too...

    - - -

Well, I just found out, its not totally un indexed. Look here, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4ADBS_enUS224US233&q=make-ice-cream.com&aq=f&oq=&aqi= . The make-ice-cream .com is my site. But instead of having the title "Homemade ice cream; how to make", it now just says "Microsoft Office Live"? Huh? With this new title im no longer ranking for any search terms...

any help would be very very much appreciated?? Those few bucks are really important to me at this point in my life!!!

    Hello,

As per my view that this is google dancing which effect your ranking and also your page rank, so for maintenance you need to go through link building and try to generate some strong links for your website and which is genuine for your website and which 100% relevance to your website.

this is just bad luck, your website was down when the bot crawled it, hopefully next time when the bot comes back it will restore your cache and rankings.

ok, thanks for the explanation. I guess this means my site will eventually get back to normal, which is good to hear. Does anyone know any techniques to get the google bot to crawl my site again (other than the sitemap?)

    thanks again

Add a new article or other content to the site? I was thinking about this last night and was going to suggest that you add in a link or two to the site but I already see it in your sig so we have a couple new links.

Go find a couple more threads and answer them here at dp with an actual answer so not to get in trouble with the moderators here. That'll give you a couple more links directing the spiders to your site.

I suspect Googlebot will already have visited you as the content changed. If you don't see the bot in your logs, use Pingomatic or similar. All we be returned to normal in a few days.

why don't you change the Microsoft Office Live in some part of your site, like the alt tag. I see that you use the title most of the time and also the logo. To make use of it, change it to your target keyword. Spiders will see that and might change the result on the search link you gave here.

Remove the bing search on your site which is in top. Better remove it or move to right corner.

It will pick up eventually ..recently i moved my site from shared hosting to dedicated hosting .
Guess what Big G send out bot and find my site down .... my traffic dropped to 80% down ...all my adsense revenue dropped and i had no sale for several days.

what i did was re-generated new Google sitemap and now traffic is not back up to same level but it's picking up again.

This shows how Google affects our lives . You can try Sitemaps to see if you can see some traffic back .
