Why would Google ban for "Copyright infringement" when there is YouTube???

    So,

Most of us know that posting, hosting, linking etc. to copyrighted material is against TOS

    BUT!

Google itself owns Youtube.com where you can find almost any music video clips, TV shows etc. All of these are copyrighted of course, I have seen some of them removed but there are still many left.

I am thinking of starting my own niche video sharing site, but I am worried - what if someone uploads copyrighted material and I dont remove it in time?

    Thoughts?

They wouldn't ban you...maybe temp. ban the site until the material was gone. In all reality they aren't going to check to see if those videos would be copyrighted...they are more concerned about invalid clicks etc.

you know that it's content theft, and you know that it's against the tos.

so why are you out here asking about it?

how many lawsuits is google fighting right now over copyright issues?

people on this forum have been banned by adsense for copyright infringement.

I don't think video sharing sites are a good suit for adsense. There's no point in debating whether Google has the right to do this or that. You either abide to their rules or you can banned.
