Why Would Blog Post Get De-Indexed

I have a fairly new Wordpress blog (four weeks) and it's my first, and I'm really trying to get a handle on SEO and how to get my blog posts to rank for my keywords. Not having any luck with the posts. My static home page is ranking on page two.

My posts are getting indexed. They're actually getting indexed within minutes -- probably because I have the XML Sitemap plugin installed?? I'm not doing any pinging other than what is done automatically by Wordpress and the XML Sitemap plugin.

My specific question pertains to my last post. It was indexed as usual, within just a few minutes, but when I did a site search this morning, that post is no longer indexed. Is this common or does it mean I've done something wrong?

Relax, it is very common. I even see it happening on some of my 4 year olds PR3 - PR5 sites. Just wait a few days or even a week.

Don't worry and have patience, it happens. The position will stabilize.

if you find it indexed at night and not in the morning, then there could be mainly 2 reasons for that. either your content is not unique and google removed your page form indexing. or if your comtent is unique but in the morning you are getting the result form different datacenter.
