    Wordpress is absolutely a CMS.

You want a list of CMS..Google is your best friend:

Even though wordpress is a blogging software, it has got all the features of a good content management system, many websites are using wordpress as a content management system.

You dont have to be confused, understand it simple wordpress can be used as a blogging software and also cms. Blogging is different terminology and CMS is different terminology thats all.

First login wpadmin on the left hand side you will see a menu called appearance. Click on that, you will see a list of themes. They you can activate any theme you want from the list.

if you know to create a theme, create it and put it inside the themes folder which will be under wp-content/themes
or else look out for free themes, you will get an attractive theme.

before you learn to do a theme, first try out with the default thing, i think you are a newbie for wordpress, it will take lot of time to learn it completely.

It is sooo much easier to just follow the tutorials at Wordpress.org, or video tutorials at Wordpress.tv.
Not only that, but just about every theme comes with installation instructions in the "Read Me" file.
If you figured out how to install Wordpress on your own hosting that quick (it was actually matter of minutes between your first post and installing wordpress) ...installing a theme shouldn't be that hard to follow.

Yes thats right, but for some news themes, it will come with gadgets and plugin collection, if you see it on the first look to populate those items needs real understanding like to put a featured image or thumbnail and also populate the layout with categories. Not that difficult but for a starter it is a daunting task

Content Management Systems > Blogging > Wordpress

It's a CMS first then Blogging Software. That's why it can be used for almost anything. I don't see why that's confusing.

Those themes almost always come with instructions and support which will answer installation questions much better than us who don't even have the docs or specs.
