My new blog won't show up in search engines yet.. Does anybody know why this may be... It hasn't been up for more that 5 days, so that might be the problem.. But even when I search for the whole site url it doesn't show up! Why is this?
If you don't have some good links to your site, it's not surprising that it is not yet indexed. Just build a few good links and be patient.
Like adamjthompson said you need some backlinks, preferably on a site that's indexed frequently. Then you need to wait for the bots to find your site through those links. Once your site is nidexed, it will show up.
Wait a while. Indexing can take time. Point some links to it. Have the bots visited it already ? If yes, then it is but a matter of time before your site gets indexed. Check whether your domain was blacklisted at any point of time in the past.
You could also upload a sitemap to the various search engines. Do you have your blog listed in your sig? That will help a lot.
