Why won't google index my site.

I have never had this happen before so I would like to know what went wrong. I made a new site about 3 days ago and submitted it to digg as well as 10 other social bookmarking sites. Google didn't index it. Why is this? I also have a sitemap and it's not working. Any suggestions?

What's your site url? See if there is any problem in robots.txt file.

I've had this problem before as well. Put 2 sites up within a day of each other and gave them almost the exact same linking scheme. Submitted a sitemap through google webmaster and everything. Within 3-4 days the one site was ranking #1 for it's term in Google and the other site was yet to be indexed. A few days later (yesterday) the site that wasn't indexed had it's Contact Us page indexed, but not it's home page or anything else. I had a blank robots file so I know it wasn't that. I'm not really sure what was wrong.

Three days while usually more than enough to get in the Google index is not that much.
I wouldn't worry just yet. Publish some more content, build a few quality backlinks and leave it for a few days.

I would give it at least 1 - 2 weeks. Google indexing takes a bit longer than it used to.

Create a XML sitemap and submit it in the Google Webmaster Tools and keep working with the backlinks. Sometimes it takes time to get indexed in Google.

The broken sitemap is the problem, you need to get that fixed or remove it from webmaster tools.

You need quality backlinks (e.g. from PR2+ pages) and time. Google won't index new domains unless a certain amount of time has passed or if there are quality links pointing at it.

Yes I agree...3 days is a very short amount of time to be worried already. Just keep getting new links and adding new content. In time you should get indexed. You just need to be patient.
