I would like to know how to rank my pages as highly as Wikipedia for any topic that I want? What allows Wikipedia to rank so highly in search result?
my simple answer is wikipedia has post for every keyword i mean for example if search for toy wikipedia will give you information about toy and it is old website though this might also another reason it uses little keywords in their article links this would also another reason.
dear there are some authority site which worth high ranking, and wikipedia is a great contributor to the web and the world having everything to get ranked higher.
I would like to say that, wikipedia is not a commercial, its non-profit organization and provides great information for the user. And Google shows its wikipedia based on the search query, whether the query deserves wiki, news, shopping, informative sites. For example - you cannot see wiki page for "apple iphone" query, you can see wiki page for "Iphone". These two queries are different, google decides by algo and shows result accordingly.
Wikipedia is a trusted and authoritative site with a relevant content and a huge number of quality backlinks. I think the right question is how did Wiki gained such authority but not why it still ranks high in Google.
Gives a genuine information. high level trusted content. world class information. that's the reason you are getting a top links of Wikipedia. Am i correct?
Good internal link structure and link authority. So many webmasters link to wikipedia as a reference.
Wikipedia have great internal linking and there for his bounce rate is to low it also has a reason i think.
Wikipedia has tremendous content and myriad of keywords. And it provides value. For free!!! Why shouldn't it rank? I think Wikipedia is phenomenal. Leilani

Wikipedia is a non-profitable FREE encyclopedia. Which provides genuine content only with references from top level domains.
Firstly, wikipedia has a lot of content which is updated and improved on the daily basis. also, there were a lot of services and still are where people add wikipedia links to the articles you pay for to make sure article links out to other websites so wikipedia have so many incoming links for each keyword that it makes it difficult to displace... blame all those SEO pro's who were building links for free to wikipedia.
