Hi. All My question is- My keyword is ranking on 2nd position in Google US SERP whose monthly local search volume is 90,500 but my keyword getting only 5 clicks a day. What is the reason behind it?
Perhaps the trend of the keyword where your site ranks drop drastically to the point that only a few where using it now. Another case would be, you are fooled by the keyword statistic tool you've referred to. Third, the ranking you got might be international, meaning with local, you site is nowhere to be found on first page. Sugggestions: - Try another keyword statistics tool for comparison. More than 3 would be better. - Try adding your site on Google Webmaster console. GWT provides a table of keywords where you site gets impression per keywords alongside average position on each. You might find out through this that your site isn't generally in 2nd position but somewhere deeper.
What kind of IP addresses (which country) you’re looking through SERP where you got the 2nd place? Probably, this position may differ in accordance with different data-centers
Perhaps your page title and meta description is not attracting clicks and you are losing those clicks to your competition?
and where did you get the search volume of the kw? and i assume that its just an estimate so it might change..
The situation you are telling is all most impossible! May be you are getting wrong data of keyword search volume.
Thats indeed quite odd as you tell it, In my experience, you should be getting at least 40% of the number of average hits. Have you rechecked for inconsistencies ?
What keyword or keyphrase you rank? With Google Instant, every keystroke on the search box changes the results, the longer keyword or key phrase you rank, it gives lower chance to see your site even you rank higher...
First Check your Keyword's Real Search Volume. It can be Different with your Data. Then Optimize your Title and Description and make it User Friendly. you have to care about relevancy, and description have to describe what exactly you want to say. Also Check keyword search data on Google ad-words or word tracker. Social Media also can help to generate more traffic.
"Google US SERP whose monthly local search volume is 90,500" do you get this data from Google keyword tool? This tool is google made for advertisers, it brags a LOT
Very short but the point is really there. And I would have to agree with that. Ranking first page is not the finish line of achieving your ultimate goal, you need to get the conversion as well. And as we speak of conversion, that means enticing surfers to click. When your page title and description are not telling something that would make surfers click to see more of the content, then you are ranking dead on first page of a very competitive keyword. Suggestion: Do some experiment. Create several description and test their effectiveness. If one works well over the other, then take it and improve it further to get your site a 100% of the keyword traffic you are ranking your site.
Try play around with your page title and description? Sometimes those factors can improve your chances of people clicking through.
Dynamic content on your site, broad messages, link directory, guest book, online search and news items etc.It make all enjoyable experience for your visitors.
There is preety easy answer. Not each keywords give you same visitors. Also 90,500 visits volume is calculated for many many mutations of base keywords.
where did you get the 90k? maybe its not accurate and its important to know just cause you rank one keyword doesn't mean you will get traffic. I will bet you the 90k is not accurate.
The search volume might not be related to the local traffic your site is targeted at, it is a common mistake, to rank well for a keyword while your domain is targetting a particular country and you do a US search in Google Keywords Tool and wonder why your site is not getting any clicks, while the search volume for that keyword should give you plenty of clicks
