offcource you should add +1 button into your website because of it's very high popularity. It's just like facebook button and does work like facebook button. although it is not much popular like facebook but sure it will helps to boost ur traffic in feature.
I think it's BS, you shouldnt have to put +1 and Like on your website, that should be done at browser level. Why provide for free valuable traffic statistics to those companies? They already know everything that is going on the web.
