The UN is good in theory... but in action... I dunno I think it is just another way/reason to tax the people on the world wide scale.

Your religion does not matter in this conflict. The issue is about dispossession and land-grabbing, not religion. It just so happens that on one side, we have the Muslims and on the other, we have Zionists who claim to be "Jews" but there are Orthodox Jewish organisations such as the Neuterei Karta that denounces the establishment of Israel.

If you are on the side of the oppressed and justice, you will vote for GAZA. If you are an oppressor and tyrant, you will side with ISRAEL. Its as clear as black & white.

    bobbym,
Like maxxcwl stated, your religion doesn't matter here. And FYI, not all palestinians are muslims. There are christians among them, too.

Also, Polite teen, you should know that Allah is an arabic word for God. Something tells me you already knew that...

Allah means God in english, and this Beautiful Name holds the meaning of the rest of His Majestic Names.

    22. He is Allâh, than Whom there is no other God, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

    23. He is Allâh than Whom there is no other God the King, the Holy, the Peace, the Believer (in Himself, He doesn't need anyone, He is the source of confidence), the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allâh! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him.

    24. He is Allâh, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

    42. Consider not that Allâh is unaware of that which the wrong-doers do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror.

    43. (They will be) hastening forward with necks outstretched, their heads raised up (towards the sky), their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts empty (from thinking because of extreme fear).

    44. And warn (O Muhammad PBUH) mankind of the Day when the torment will come unto them; then the wrong-doers will say: "Our Lord! Respite us for a little while, we will answer Your Call and follow the Messengers!" (It will be said): "Had you not sworn aforetime that you would not leave (the world for the Hereafter).

I posted the red text because I expected some questions from satan :D

who try hardly to push people to disbelief.

May Allah guide you and me and all those interesting to His Paradise dear Glottis.

The question was about the whether is not the UN serves a purpose people.. Why does every question result in tit for tat religious blah,

IMO There is need for the UN, I know in this instance it may seem they have been of little use, but I think things would be much worse without them.. The Gaza crisis is only one of many problems the UN is trying to deal with.. ;)

No it's not ! But I do have a great idea. I don't think that nay other country should get involved in this ever again, and let the 2 just fight it out. By themselves. Alone.

No press. No U.N. No U.S. No Humanitarian aid.

    Mano y Mano.
Seal off the ports, and let them have at it. It will be over sooner than later.

I agree with you, but just want to add: No Egypt as well.

Let those who want to leave the area leave to a safe place and then let the 2 armies "only" fight.

Yes, it does. It servers the purposes of usa and zionists , other then that UN is just rubbish and waste of tim e

Gaza genocide has yet again proven that every country needs to build its own defenses because no 'International community' is going to help when you are in trouble. The world is still like a jungle & works on principle of survival of the fittest .
So either you get strong or you perish!

The Gaza genocide ? THEY LAUNCHED ROCKETS INTO ISRAEL ! Repeatedly ! They were asked to stop and they didn't. Israel actually ASKED them to stop.

The next time one of your neighbors continues to throw dynamite over your fence into your yard, because a disagreement you had in the past, I would like to know how patient you will be.
Will you take notice and sit down at a table for diplomacy, or will you kick his ass ?

If you kick his ass, I guess he can then claim that you attacked him for no reason, right ?

The UN is a good concept, but isn't powerful enough. It's structurally flawed and too weak to do/enforce anything meaningful in many situations.

May logic and scientific thinking rule over you. ;)

Un is nothing else but a drama staged by America. US wants other countries to follow international laws, but when it has its own interest, it attacked Iraq without the will of Security Council. Now, the UN sec. Gen. went to Israel and said 'Israel has a right to defend'!Thats outrageous!

Just yesterday i heard in news that more than 1000 palestinians have died in war, while only 13 Israelis have died! And still everybody keeps repeating HAMAS SHOULD STOP ROCKETS!!!
I think right now whole world thinks that by eliminating every Muslim, world peace can be restored.

Speak for yourself, don't claim to know the opinion of the whole world.

I thinks you watch too much TV and news media and read stupid comments on stupid internet forums and not go out and meet and talk to people enough.

The US did what it had to do by invading Iraq. There were numerous reasons, one being the fact Iraq doesn't know how to follow UN BINDING Resolutions.

The UN doesn't do the bidding of the US. The original UN (League of Nations), the US wasn't even a member. And there are several other permanent members of the Security Council that hold Veto power...so please, tell me where it does the US bidding.

And it most definitely does not do the work of Israel, otherwise it would have not recognized Palestine and would not have let them come to talk. Good try, disproved again.

All countries should act in the interests of their national security without the UN trying to stop it. Every nation needs to do things to survive. If some of those things lead to war, oh well. War sucks, been there, done that, got the t shirt, and then some.

The UN never really had any power in Gaza. Israel has been ignoring UN requests for how long? Unfortunately, they are allies of my country and the US puts our allies ahead of the UN (as it should be). Heck, the UN's "power" is only imaginary. Without the support of the permanent members of the Security Council, and without all the Aid the US puts into it, it would cease to exist.

I agree with the idea of allowing those that want to leave to get out of Israel/Gaza, shutting everything off from transit afterwards, no humanitarian aid, no outside countries, nothing, except a good old fashioned mexican show down, without the mexicans. Let Israel and Hamas settle this, no cease fires so Hamas can build back up their weapons stock piles. Just let them have at it, as was stated earlier, mano y mano. The winner gets the whole area. If Israel looses, most of the middle east were done a favor, if Hamas looses, one less terrorist group.

And I say no humanitarian aid so the people in those countries can completely feel the effects of war, not just a little, but completely. It will aid in the demoralization of one of the countries, if only a little. Give say...1 week for all to leave that want to, those that remain will not be considered civilians but members of that countries army and are fair game. This way, neither side can cry about that issue. Leave the press in so we can at least have some knowledge of what is going on besides propaganda spewed by both sides.

Now, let me add this, if Hamas would stop using civilians as a shield, stop targeting civilians, and put on a freaking uniform, I will stop calling them terrorists. That goes for all terrorist groups around the world. The 9/11 terrorists hit a civilian target (WTC Towers) bad ju-ju. Hitting the Pentagon? Thats a strategic military asset, therefor making it fair game as a strategic military target, no condeming from me. If the islamic militants want to fight a war, done a uniform, and meat me on the battlefield. Don't attack civilians. I know, it will take all your chances of winning and throw them out the window, but, at least your doing it like a man and not just blowing yourself up in a market to kill 3 people. Tell me, why would you kill yourself for 3? I could see taking a huge bomb into a hotel or something and taking 100+ people out.

And, to all who think suicide bombers are cowards, I believe it takes a huge set of cajones to strap a bomb to you and blow yourself up, I wouldn't do it. f that lol.

You just have to love the logic. Everybody calls for Hamas to stop firing rockets into another country - and this fool thinks that means people want to eliminate Muslims.

No, it means stop firing rockets.

Some people just love to play the part of victim and imagine the whole world hates them.

I understand isreal is powerful and Muslims are not , so isreal can do whatever it wants ,no one has the right to object but at least don't give lame excuses like this!

watch this documentary http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1259454859593416473 and tell what you feel , hamas emerged just because of the unjust and humiliating treatment that is given to Palestinians by terrorist isreal.

Some people are shameless cowards and accept humiliating behavior and conditions to live but not everyone is like this!
