Usually I don't submit my sites to any search engine, they'll find your site eventually.

I can guarantee you that if you submit your site in "a few" SE you'll get PR 3-5 ;)

You dont need to submit your sites to search engines. It happens automatically. SE bots are able to find new sites without any efforts from you.

Search engine submission is the act of getting listed into search engines. It doesn't mean that your site is going to get a good rank by doing this but just giving a notice to the search engines that your site exists. So it is easy to index. SEO is the process which helps you increase the rank and visibility of your site.

Don't even bother submitting your sites to search engines. That is so 2003! lol

The search engines will find you automatically when they do their crawls. I'd actually prefer to be found rather than submit my site, because you don't want to alert the suspicion of the SE's to the fact that you're an SEO. Let them think that you don't care about your rankings at all...its all about reverse psychology.

I second NoveltyGroupLLC opinon here. Submitting to directories and search engines is a huge waste of time. All you have to do to get indexed is leave a comment on one of the popular blogs like DoshDosh or TechCrunch and thesearch engines will find you.

it all contributes to the bigger picture. They are all linked together in ways. You get found automatically to a certain degree as well. The more the merry I say. Just get your site out there each and everyway....cover all bases.
