Why we lost lost SERPs at the last update

Just came across this interesting read as to some of the reasons why some of us lost SERPs at the last Google update........

Theres rumours that: "...Google is trying to recalibrate AdSense. Secondly, it is suggested that Google is implementing some of its new search technology that is part of a longer term strategy...."
