I don't want to say but yes, new generation has lost its patience. Our ancestors were more patient than us. Why????

    Is this because of media????
Is this because of our daily life???
Is this because political situation of world????
We should have to be more civilized than our ancestors but as we all know, we are getting worse in our manners. Why????
Why are forgetting our social norms????

Lots of questions there, but to address the original question, yes, I believe it is because of our daily lives and the media both.

In older days if Beethoven wanted to go to town, he'd have to get up, get the horse hitched to the wagon, ride along some bumpy dirt road in the rain or snow in an uncomfortable mind and butt joggling wooden box, all of which, if he only lived a couple miles from the center of the city, would still take some hours, while freezing in the winter, or melting away in the summer.

Might as well just stay at home and write a symphony. Then sell and/or perform it live. Promoters back then didn't have commercials, and if they did they could only have them two times during one hearing. Between the second and third movements, and the third and fourth movement. Not enough money there for sure.

The media nowadays wants to SELL time, and there is NO time to make money in a symphony that long. So they have dumbed down our likes and dislikes, creating fanfare and hoopla around the dumbest music possible to accomodate their number one passion - making money.

Nowadays with rap one does not even NEED a real musician, a singer or songwriter. It is no longer beholden upon the music producer to seek out real talent. They get some computer programmers and whip something up in a few seconds. Most of the time there's not even an actual instrument in the entire "song."

I don't blame these "rappers." In fact I think they're great. Funny and smart for all their ignorant lyrics. They've been handed an opportunity and they've run with it. Daddy didn't make no fool here. Daddy didn't buy them some baseball team or the Presidency. NO, for the most part, Daddy for them was never more than a word or a character in some TV Sit-com they got to watch if they were lucky enough to have a TV.

Who do I blame? The media. If those money hungry avaricious bastards offered my old white ass a couple hundred million dollars to grab my nuts on stage and screech out some stupid lyrics... trust me, I'd do it too.

Lol, were did that come from , so funny and unexpected but very true:)

We have lost all patience as Dead Corn says due to time.... We are all in a race to get somewhere , what somewhere is I doubt half the time we really know. Also the media and daily intake of todays society excuses half of our patience, as for me patience is given when due... so if I am given none or shown a lack there of the same is given.

We need to bring back family values. maybe even home schooling and spending more time with the kids. If only the economy were a bit better also.

That's the question that EVERY generation asks. Here's one of the responses you'd hear in the mid-1800's:
"Curse these newfangled 'matches'. Back when I was a kid, you used flint to make a fire, and by golly, you had to have patience!"

Sadly, I believe little patience is the modern human condition. We have gotten used to the instant gratification in just about every aspect of our lives. We want food? We can have it brought to our door. News? Turn on the television or log onto the computer. Write a letter? Turn on the computer. Nothing takes the time the time that it used to and so we do not have any appreciatiion for that way of life. We are all guilty of wanting things "right now" and thus we are a generation/society that has no patience.
