When i submitted my domain www.discusstv.com , i mentioned that I am fro India but my sites visitors are from US Canada, UK etc. and i was ALLOWED / ACCEPTED by YPN . Now when i try to login , they dont allow me to access the portal unless i give a US address. So i am wondering why my site was allowed ? dont they see the site profile initially before allowing ?

think of it this way, atleast you have an account approved already for when they accept publishers outside the US

You didn't read the application before you applied.

This is lame.. why didn't you just follow the rules and not sign up when you're not supposed to so you didn't have to come here and whine? :D

Well, for one .. because i expected Yahoo to be as good as Google . Just try to see the same with Google and see what happens , you get screened by them ... and i dont think Yahoo has any less employees than Google .
Moreover , not all web users are supposed to go through all the small print , if the bigwigs like Y cant even spend time to screen their applicants ... what are we ?

It wasn't in the fine print, it's in bolded letters at the top of the application you had to fill out.

"Participants of the program must have a valid U.S. Social Security or Tax ID number, and web site content that is predominantly in English and targeted at a U.S. user base."

But now you know, and when they come out of beta (hopefully early next year) they will expand the program to at least some other countries. The Yahoo rep did mention they were have problems with fradulent clicks from India and China (I'm sure every where, but they specifically mentioned those two). They are also still working out bugs with the US program.

Right now, they don't have enough US ads for all categories - and the ads they run are specifically for the US market and clicks from other countries aren't likely to generate much business so I'm sure the clicks would pay very little, if anything, right now.

mjewel , my anger is not against you ... but frankly that is the biggest BS , believe me . I will explain to you why :
By fraudulent clicks , you mean say for eg. X advertiser paying Indian ppl to click on their Y competitors ads , right ? So as to clean out their budget - is that it ?
Well, i heard that accusation before and let me tell you ... Indian people even if they try will not be able to see US Ads even if they want to , unless the advertiser pays for Global reach. MOst people target their locality with their ads ... so Indians can't possibly make such fraudulent clicks .

Yahoo has been running PPC for years. I am just repeating what the Yahoo Rep told me- that certain countries have been had a higher rate of fradulent clicks. I didn't say it was with YPN, but in general. They specifically mentioned those two places. I believe Chikita also deducts for clicks from those countries. It certainly doesn't mean everyone from outside the US is involved in fradulent clicks, they were just saying the percentages were higher. I don't have access to their numbers- just repeating what they said. As for people not being able to see those ads... that isn't true. Just use a proxy.
