Visitors don't click on AdSense because they know that you get paid for every click :) just joking, ensure to change the ad placement and make the ads look more attractive and blended with your website's theme colour. I suggest that you add a 160*600 skyscraper on the left or right hand side of your website. Also, try inserting a large rectangle (336*280) between the categories. Remove the 468*60 banner on the top right header. These changes should help you to possibly increase your earnings.

It's a directory... Most of your traffic is going to be webmasters and they will not click on ads.

Agreed, whoever visits your site will most likely be a professional when it comes to forums and ads. You should find an ad that forum owners and webmasters would want to click on.

Visitors click on ads when they find it is something they are interested and looking.
Content is the most important article

Your blog should focus on single topic. So that ads will display for that topic only. Whenever visitor see that he might click the related ad.

The page was loading, I was ready to click an ad, although I usually don't click them, but there was no ads on the site. Tough luck I guess.

So you were going to click on an ad for no reason? I'm sure all the Adwords customers here will appreciate that...

ad placement and their type is very important in adsense. If you want to earn revenue from clicks then you need to have your ad blocks at most important locations and with right cloor combination and size. Traffic to your website is also an important factor when it comes to Google Adsense.

Very important in my opinion for your ads to match your website content.
