wordpress much better than blogspot :D it will not change the content when you change the template. In blogspot, when you change the template all of your widget will be gone for good :D

There is one other thing that is not mentioned here I guess. The endless amount of free quality online tutorials from setting up to making a complete theme from scratch for wordpress.

I don't think there is any other blogging platform that has this kind of online tutorials.

You can find a complete list of wordpress tutorials here and video tutorials here

    It's easy to learn.
    It's easy to maintain.
    It's flexible and extensible.

It's the cats meow! Take a little time to learn the core installation and feature set, read the docs, visit the plugins/extensions and you'll start to see why. I have used a lot of software tools over the years including FrontPage, DreamWeaver, Joomla, Drupal, CMS Made Simple, SubDreamer, etc. And for my time and money nothing comes close to putting up sites with WordPress. That is not to say there are not instances where there is a better specific tool/script. But for the average web presentation Wordpress is the bomb!

I'm really not a huge fan of wordpress. it does a lot of stuff you can do with some php and html. A lot of people try to make sites with it even though it's not really made for that even though I did manage to make a pretty good magazine site with it with like three months worth of coding that I wish I would have just used for a script for my self.
I think people like it because of all the plugins and templates but if you think in the long term the people that create the plugins will fade and they won't work in new versions and templates break because of certain new updates so I can't really figure out why people don't just do it themselves.

If you want a blog then heck ya it's the best out there! but if you want a site then you really have to mess with it. I guess I just don't have something to say every day.

It's simple to use, their are countless themes / plugins, it's easy to upgrade/change template/change widgets/change text/remove text etc. Countless functions, as everything you need to set up a website or a blog if you look for the right plugins / themes.

I agree about it and I use my imagination to build my first blog site. With "correct" plugins everything you would can be done. Everyone who love blogging / posting (I hope) will love my blog too.
