Why use Wordpress Tags?

    Just wondering why/if you should use wordpress tags?

    I dont use them on my blog because simply I dont know what they are there for?

    - Do they help with SEO?
    - Do they help user Navigation?

    Any help would be great :)

    I think they serve both the purposes to an extent.
