I have heard alot about Magento ecommerce shopping cart software. There is a community version which is free or an expensive paid version. I am assuming alot of the community will be using the free version. But this version is watered down and some of the functionality isn't available. It is still popular choice as an ecommerce software. I am wondering why this is, is it easy to create those missing functionality? What is everyones thoughts on it?
What feature are you missing? I have recently setup a whole store with the community version. Lots of modules out there to fill in any feature you may want.
I was wondering does the community version come with things like: - Refunds and store credit - Shipping zones and options - SEO functionality - Multi-currency - Inventory & stock control - Return system - Customer wishlist - Gift certificates - CMS editable pages - Inventory & stock control - Sell digital goods If not is it easy and cheap to build additional functionality like this?
I am just trying to understand what are the benefits of Magento its become so popular so many freelancers + agencies use it exclusively I am wondering whether it is a good option to use in the future.
In my opinion Magento is for big stores with more products and databases. But there are other shopping carts that are as powerful as magento ex:ubercart.
Yep, I believe all of that comes out of the box. I use Magento for all my clients because its the fastest, free, open-source way to get to an enterprise level solution without having to code one. Nigel
Magento allows the users to make fair comparisons between the products and thereby, select the one that is best suitable for their needs. Not only this, but all the customers can also make a review of the products that is bought is from here. A review helps the future purchasers to know about a particular product in a proper way and hence, guide them in buying the right product.
