I keep reading about how having a blog gets traffic to a website. That means getting traffic for a blog must be easy. After all if it takes a much effort to get traffic for a blog as it does for a website then why build a blog for traffic for you site be cause all you are doing is doubling you work load. If O am wrong about this then please explain why.

Blogs are websites too! The difference is they tend to be dynamic in nature, so if you regularly post interesting topics traffic will find you.

In all honesty, it is much harder to get traffic to a blog than it is to a traditional website. If you are looking for great website ideas, you should read Maki's post over at Dosh Dosh.

Actually your blog is your website. It has a url address. In essence, it is a website. Blogs are becoming more popular because it's easier to create and maintain a blog rather than to create a regular website. You can make modifications to a blog more easily and more frequently than a website. Also, your blogs can be indexed into google without having to pay for pay per click campaigns to display a regular website. Search around for how a blog works, you'll see the difference between the two. In a lot of cases it's better to have a regular website, mostly for real businesses but for regular internet users who would like to earn good money should definitely get into how blogs work.

    According to WikiPedia:
And yes, I do agree with the earlier posts since blog articles are created with just some clicks. It's a lot more easier to place or make a post about certain things rather than editing a pure HTML embedded document.

Pure HTML code? Ehm.. I think the decent webies have a CMS. In my opinion the blog is not a complete website. It's more like a online "notebook" where you post data via your CMS ( content management system ) that is already coded for you (wrodpress, blogger etc).

For me, blogs represent the way of learning internet business and getting a better idea about the internet world. Learning about internet traffic is also part of the deal, so as you move on promoting a blog, you learn tips and tricks, get ideas and find out what people would like to see more. That way you start improving your main website and the blog about what you added on it, generating targeted traffic..

Not sure about it though, I'm new at this but, that's my overall opinion.

Yeah, Good SEO strategy. Bang on a blog. Start pumping out topic specific content, link it in tightly with your static HTML site. You can see it all pop up in the engines pretty quickly.

i think what your asking is if you are a realtor and you have a realty website, why should you have a blog as well??

if that is what you are askinig hen the reason you should is because having a blog will greatly increase your SEO (search engine optimization) AND it will give your current visitors a reason to keep coming back.

Think about it, if your a realtor and you start a blog talking about chicago area real estate market (assuming u live in chicago) then all of a sudden your site has all this great content on chicago real estate market. So if a user searches google for "chicago real estate market" your site has a much better chance of comming up.

Plus it's a great way to keep your prospects educated on the market.

    Hope that example helps!
