Why .us could not hide the contact information for the owner?

Just register an .us website and it seems that I could not hide the contact information even if I want to pay for it. :(

Do not know before register, I think I will not register .us any more.

    Cenile or something? geez relax

Yeah dot us will not allow you to have privacy protection, you have a 5 day period where you can tell your registrar (ex. godaddy) to cancel the domain name and credit your account for the full purchase price. I advice you to do so if you are not going to use the domain.

You could always use a PO Box service for it.

However that costs $, but it's worth it if you REALLY want to have a US domain and protect your info.

I am not trying to hide anything, I just feel it is not a good idea for any one to show all his contact information, i.e. name, address, phone #, email on line.

    Thanks anyway for your input.
Just for a domain name, I do not think the PO Box service will worth, it cost more than the webhost plus domain name. :D
