Why to submit SITEMAPS??

    I am really confused about why to submit sitemaps to google . can someone explain me what is the use of doing it :)..i wish my forum www.GODHIDES.com to be visible in search engine's first page , any ideas how to do it??

    it's just to give google a list of urls to visit, it's quicker than waiting for the googlebot to come and find your page, especially for the new ones.

    By submitting your sitemap to Google you can explicitly tell Google which pages to index. You can also discover if you have any problems on your site that prevents Google from crawling or indexing your site. By uploading a new sitemap it may also help Google find new content faster.

    As for getting to page #1 of Google....it mostly comes down to trust and quality of backlinks. You basically need a stronger link profile than the websites already on page 1 for your keyword.

    Wow, I have a lot to learn. I don't even know what a sitemap is.
    I am barely building my site. All of this stuff sound overwhelming.

    Sitemap in proper format can help Google find and index many pages that you may never even think of. :) Google can crawl almost everything but sometime they do lost and leave your site with a fault marked on your site pages. I really recommend you submit sitemap and monitor them via Google Webmaster Toools. It could help you figure out many problems between your site and Google.
