Why this site is #1

There's a website stronghaus .com that ranks #1 for philadelphia dog trainer. There page rank is a 0, and they only have 5 back links. The other pages before it have better page ranking and more backlinks. Can anyone tell me the reason why this site is #1? I don't understand it.

 

maybe that is a new site. Google gives new sites a good SERP.It won't stick on that long.

 

they use IMG alt="philadelphia dog trainer" several times on the page, in their meta tags etc.

 

Ive checked the keywords "philadelphia dog trainer" to some of my keywords tools and sad to say that its not really a competitive keywords..

 

PageRank is only a minor factor in determining rank position. I've seen several PR0 sites in the number one position for more competitive search phrases than that.

Yahoo only shows 4 inbound links. Even the inbound links have little or no PR. I don't see any strong sites linking to it.

The site looks nice, but is very slow to load.

That site is probably one of the many anomalies seen with G's search results. I also agree that the search phrase is not very competitive.

 

i didn't do the site, but I was just curious how it could rank higher than those 2 sites behind it... that have backlinks, and the keywords in the domain name... weird.

 

I agree with you, the keyword may not be competitive.

 

PR has nothing to do with rankings

And google shows only 5 backlinks (again ranking is not only based on links) but yahoo shows more backlinks ...

Noooo, not new sites get high serp from google. It's completely wrong. the site might have been optimized for that keyword that's the only reason. pagerank only doesnt determine the site's postition, also imporant is the seo done on it, the keyword optimized etc. and the keyword for which the site ranks high is a very low search volume and competition keyword, so it can easily rank that high, but no use at all from that. for instance, I am ranking high for "good writing help" I am second, but no hits from that, at least no valuable hits, but once in a long while. check out my sig for my site.

 

Page rank is dead and gone. The metric is useless now days.

 

It may be possible that the keyword against you are getting site ranked in google has less searched and competition.

 

try searching "philadelphia dog trainer" and u can see the competiiton i doubt it is high. So if u optimized it for that keyword, chances you got an easy one =D

 

somebody please...show the solution for this..i searched lot but cant get it much idea for this.

I search some other PR 1 sites. backlink are very diffrent.

 

AFAIK Pageranks kicks only in if there is competition.

If there is no competition you dont need PR.
