I have got an Amsterdam travel related site. Earlier when it was at comparatively low rank at google.com I was getting sufficient visitors. But as the place and rank is increasing (now appearing in top five) in main key words related to amsterdam hotels, the numbers of visitors have drastically been decreasing. Although the design, links, content (inner page increased) of the site is the same as it was earlier. Can anyone help me to search out the problem with the site ?

i once experienced this sudden drop of visitors. but once i get to add really new articles that i found no same topic from related blog, i get lots of traffic then. i once get out and go to a mall and found a brochure about tourist advantage program in this particular city the i'm bloggging about so i added it to my blog and presents a dollar exchange rate widget in the upper adsense ad and get lots of visitors to it. some blogs are even linking my site. unique title and useful widget help visitors stay.
bunty, your problem is wide-spread. There may be two factors: 1. You maybe forgot about Google customized search and you are checking positions in a 'wrong' Google. - get NL ip, - go to Google.nl, - set your language as NL - remove all customizations in the browser - logout from your Google account, joke 2. Your snippet quality degraded over time, so people do not want to click on your site in SERP anymore.
Don’t worry this type of fluctuations are there. But traffic and rankings don’t have a direct relevance. Ranking are considered from the amount of backlinks and its quality and not from traffic.
That's right. I mean by ranking position. Although the site is in top five on the very first page yet the visitors (traffic) has been decreased. Can't find out the specific reason, Why?

Yes I made customize search but observed that even after improving the rank of my site in customize search, the no of visitors have been decreased drastically instead of increase. There is no change in language, Design and any other settings. If anybody know the specific reason then please let me know.
Well I have not done a check, but did look at the site. Some factors that may be contributing to the cause: Popularity of the topic? Perhaps searches on the topic have dropped overall? Do a keyword/phrase check and compare the amount of searches with the month your traffic was good. Since your topic is about travel to Amsterdam and staying there, it may also be a seasonal thing? Many other reasons then the SEO itself could cause this. We do a lot of optimizing, but we often tend to forget we are dealing with real people doing the searches.
I do not see your site from NL IP in Top10 by just brainstorming your possible keywords. What are your keywords, bro?
Friend its not the seasonal problem because April-Oct. is the peak touring season in Amsterdam and also the keywords in which the site is at first page are some of the most popular keywords. Neither its the problem of design because the design was the same when the site was catching much of the visitors inspite of low rank.
