Why there is a Website Review forum in DP?

    Why there is a Website Review forum in DP? In fact not only in DP but also in other similar online forums too. What is the idea behind it?

    Why?
    to get your website reviewed ofcourse. But some also looking for some backlink by posting their URL. And looking for additional traffic for their web

    The user in that thread didn't follow the rules over at sitepoint and therefore was banned. Follow the rules and the forum can be a great place to showcase your new websites to like minded people who can provide feedback.
