So a few days ago, I started a nice campaign, things were going great. Getting lots of impressions and clicks, and I was loving it. No problems. Then two days ago, I noticed nothing was showing. I was getting no action. So I did the Ad diagnostic thing, said it was possibly because my budget capped for the day (although it was a brand NEW day, so that wasn't the issue). In any case, I doubled the daily budget for shits and giggles, and they still wouldn't show. I thought, okay, I'll wait until the next day. Nothing. Next day (which is today), still, nothing. So I just went and paused the campaign. WTF? Why did my ads just suddenly stop? Bids were all good, no keywords got stopped. Everything appears normal. Is this normal? Is there like a waiting period or something where they just stop everything? Why didn't they send at least an automated notification that stated that instead of leaving me in the dark? Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks. I actually did that several times. When the ads were showing, they were in good spots (1-5), and I know it's not a bid increase problem. I read somewhere that Google will stop a campaign to review it when it's new or something? My ads are totally legit...going to a blog of mine, nothing shady at all. Very frustrating!
Your campaign could have been slapped. It's possible they don't like your content or what you're promoting offerwise.
I've had this happen several times. I think it may be paused by google to look into the account...this happens when there is questionable subject matter or you raise the daily bid really high. I usually check the next day to see my ads disapproved...adwords is tricky.
Wow. Thanks for the answers. But if they flag something like that, then they need a new system, because I'm offering nothing but helpful stuff! Not even selling anything. Not even any ads on the site! Oh well, I guess we'll see what happens.
have you tried to use another google adwords account? if it doesnt work on multiple accounts, your domain could be flagged. the easiest way to resolve at that point is to get a new domain and transfer files, not too hard.
Are you primarily collecting emails? Google doesn't like data mining sites. Unless, of course, it's one of theirs.
I actually just figured out what's up over in the official Adwords forums. The message I was getting was that "I had exceeded my daily budget", which in fact, I hadn't. I even raised it double just to see what was up. But since my ads haven't appeared for 3 days now, it obviously wasn't a budget issue. Turns out that the mysterious and misleading "exceeded your budget" message in actuality means that your account is being reviewed. This apparently takes 10-12 business days. Great. Nothing you can do besides wait it out. Oh well, I feel a little better anyway
