why do some sites in MSN have stable rankings while others pop in and out daily? i have a site that does this. one day it will rank in the top 10 for a highly competitive phrase - the next day it can't be found. the day after it's back. gone the next. are there any known reasons why this occurs? justin
I've not spent a lot of time studying this, but here's what I have observed. My more stable sites: are older have better quality backlinks also, lower competition keywords, regardless of site, are more stable
Hi, I am having this issue with a fairly new site. It pops in and out. I have heard outhers talk about this too.
Because the MS server running the DB bluescreens every now and then, and when they reboot, things disappear till the next bluescreen... Then reboot again, and they are back.
it seems there was a major flux about a week ago but now it's back to normal surface noise. i reckon there was a slight change/update relating to anchor text, as i had begun to optimise for different keywords about a month ago and saw the results immediately after that particular flux.
lmao @ mia that is some funny stuff. Wonder if they are using unix or windoze? The newness of a site has alot to do with it as someone else mentioned above. If you have an older site with more "stable" backlinks you wont jump around so much. Brad
What was really funny was the wedding registry at Target a number of years ago. The thing kept blue screening on us. So we went to Kolhs, and alas, the registry machine blue screened again. That same night we went to an ATM to get money for dinner and... you guessed it... blue screen. It's rare now. Just playin' I use Windows as well as Macs and Linux They all have their quirks.
