    Hey,

Why do you have a 90 day maximum for PMs?

I lose a lot of important PMs that I need to keep info in and it would be a lot easier using the normal max number of PMs rather than delete after 90 days.

Could it really put any extra pressure on the server having the PMs if they aren't being accessed constantly rather than just being saved?

    Thanks

I think there is a way to save them. Even if there's not, 90 days should be enough to complete any transactions, or it is atleast enough time to copy and paste the contents to a file, e-mail the info to yourself, or put the information on a sticky note...

I'm not trying to be different.

I don't expect anything from a forum which is totally free :)

Just want to know why its different here, Im used to just keeping important PMs that I can refer to later.

Completing a transaction is different, keeping important info about it which was in the PM for a transaction that could be for a sale for up to 12 months would change it.

I just dont see the reasoning for it, server space is very cheap these days and the PMs wouldn't increase server load, would they?

this forum has close to 40,000 active users. thats a lot of space that PM's take up. the 900 message is the limit and it'll not change any time soon.

so live with it, we all do.

When Shawn put the limit in place his reason was space. He suggested everyone download PMs they wanted to keep.
