I'm just curious to know why my 2 week old site suddenly have Pagerank displayed on my google toolbar. Am I doing something wrong cause I should have any yet till next update right?

Thanks for your clarification in advance.

Its my observation that sometimes Google used to give preferences (add-on points) to newly launched sites. One of my client site has also get PR 4 just after 2 week of launch and the big thing is Google was not showing a even single backlink for that site.

And one more thning, backlink is not the only factor to get PR. Starting PR (0-2, may be 3 or 4) is based on other factor as well (content, domain age, internal linking etc.)

I'm going to check again some of my sites.
    Who knows... :D

By the way good for you.
Maybe you will be able to maintain that PR on the next pr update or even improve it.

Getting PR after a few weeks is not unheard of. But keeping PR without doing any SEO work on the site is very rare.

yes, i also noticed that the pr in the toolbar changes everytime so I don't rely on it.

on another note, my 2yr old domain is having PR3 and it has only one post which I only added recently. so I guess it is also true that domain age matters.

a pr of 4 on a 4 week old site with no SEO

    thats tremendous

may we see a url to prove any of this or do we have to take your word on it.

if you can do this regularly then you would be a valuable commodity
