On 9/11, 3000 people died in the attacks. The result of this was 2 wars, more lives lost, and a total of over 3.5 trillion dollars in war costs. Yet there is a force that, in all likelihood, killed approximately 2,250 Americans today. And it will kill 2,250 Americans tomorrow. And the next day it will kill 2,250 again. This is heart diseases, which killed approximately 820,000 people in 2008. Say we spent that 3,500,000,000,000 dollars on treating this, and for one year, 1% less people died of this. That would save 8,200 lives. That seems like a better use of money to me.
And terrorism only increased not decreased. Sucide bombing was started from Afghanistan when USA attacked it
Heck, wheat kills about 75,000 Americans a year just through Celiac disease! Unfortunately, terrorism is just as counter productive as anti-terrorism. A few people die for a political cause and suddenly the oppressive governments use it as an excuse to become more oppressive.
You seem to be saying that america will die if we don't have the war on terror. I doubt it. Why don't we go with the biggest causes of death? They are assumed to be part of life, but in reality curing those would save more lives than stopping terrorists.
oh, sorry. I have met people on the internet that have stated frankly that liberals want to destroy america by allowing terrorists to run free. While such radical conservatism (Oxymoron?) is repulsive to me, I have come to include it into the spectrum of what people may think. For evidence, follow this link. As I'm sure you can tell, I am referring to the user Tom Kalbfus.
I think politicians want to destroy America. The way to fight hthe war on Terror is through the CIA/other intelligence agencies, not us soldiers.
