Why so many Yahoo spiders?

    Why do I have dozens of Yahoo Slurp Spiders combing around my site, but only maybe one Google? Or one Google Bot and one Google Adsense bot?

    working way of google bot & Yahoo slurp is not same. Or may be dozens of Yahoo slurp isn't same powerful as one google bot.

    Check the stats for one of my top sites (April 2008):

    Robots/Spiders:

    Yahoo Slurp 90281 3.50 GB
    Googlebot 32253 2.01 GB

    Search Engines (visitors):

    - Google 76702
    - Yahoo! 158

    Conclusion - Yahoo bot is crazy :) 90K bot visits to my site and only 158 visitors in the whole month, while G sent me 76K real targeted visitors and 32K bots

    You can't control the times bots coming to your site, be glad they come to see your contents. It's a good time to put contents to be indexed in your site.

    both have their purposes but it doesn't mean google should have many of them. as to that, google has better results once they get to your site.
