I'll ask it straight away, why does it seem so many folks these days are trying to earn money blogging. I've tried it only had moderate success a few years ago. Taken a good portion of time off blogging, and now it seems more than ever are trying to earn money blogging. I feel like i'm doing now/again because I have information I want to share with the web development and SEO community, and my blog gives me more than a forum can offer in terms of a soap box for rants. I'm clearly aware that it will take time to build my traffic and RSS back up, but seriously, why so many blogging for $$$?
Everyone wants to be heard, right? Add the fact that it is now easier than ever to start a blog. No technical knowledge needed, no monetary investment either... Many people are under the wrong impression it'll bring them quick money/easy fame.
Many are into making money from blogging since they realize it is very much possible. However, Typo Tat is right as they thought they can be successful overnight. While there are many money making strategies, one must learn all the details and techniques so that they will not be surprise when they are not earning.
Because they have seen big guys making money off it. Personally, I feel that only 1% people do it for passion and that's the reason why only 1% succeed!
Because you can make money without labour, it is possible so people try it. Making money using the Web is a dream for everyone I think!
How many people do you think are actually trying to make money blogging? Do you have a number or research that could pinpoint a number?
Even though it's tough to live off of a blog...that's a great realization of your dreams, isn't it? To be self-sufficent by your own words. It takes a lot of work, but I am willing to fight hard to make that dream come true.
I guess because it's easy for most people to post on a blog and they possibly think thats all it takes and the money will come flooding in.
Yeah! Mostly ppl always looks to adopt easy options to earn good money! but in real ; blogging is now competitive business as its competition gradually increased to higher extent so no more fast money despite of having genuine content with some flow of traffic
1. so many others who have made it big blogging like problogger, shoemoney etc..... 2. recession 3. increased popularity of the internet 4. increased popularity of blogging, it's talked about on tv shows, commercials etc.... 5. more internet marketers push blogging programs and membership programs 6. it's an easy way to get your opinion and rants out and make some money 7. it's a great way to teach others what you know 8. gives you hope and the chance to maybe become rich and successful 9. it can be fun 10. more marketers are pushing the "make money online" market and has turned it into the new fad.
I guess i'm in that 1% that does NOT blog to try and make money. i blog to help other webmasters and for "the love of it" (even though i admittedly hate blogging).. I make money from my website, so i can afford to blog without stuffing it full of crappy ads..
This. You REALLY need to have passion for what you're doing, or else you just die off after a few months and you realize you aren't making any bank off blogging.
People get motivated to earn money after seeing professionals like problogger, etc. However they dont realise the amount of work these guys have put in. Only thing they see is money and not the efforts put in behind that success.
But the reason that people like Darren Rowse (ProBlogger.net) are successful is because they all blog about things they are generally interested in. When you write about content you're really interested in and hold a passion for, the words seem to come out so much easier and articles start to write themselves.
