Why so difficult to get Google Backlinks

I have a site

it has like 300 yahoo backlinks but only 27 google backlinks. Anyone know the reaon for this. Is it just that google are stricter as to what they will accept

is their a way to increase google backlinks, are there certain directories etc that I should target

Google always assign backlinks according to sites quality................

Are your 27 links from the link: command or google webmaster tools?

I'm sure Google don't update there backlinks as often as Yahoo, so maybe that might be a reason?

Google don't show all your links. They show more in webmaster tools, but they still describe that as a 'sampling' of your backlinks.

I get the info from any of the backlink checkers online
