There are always a thousand reasons to do what you want and just as many reasons to refuse to do something you don't want. Some people need a good reason to get out of the bed in the morning, while others can find their own reasons as they go and don't care much about rationalizations. So lets look at a few reasons why becoming an affiliate for an Internet marketing company is a good idea. There is no risk involved for you whatsoever. There are no products to buy No money to invest You can start without even the most basic knowledge of marketing. Looking forward to your feelings on Affiliate Networking! Von EnjoynLife
....enter stage left with soap box. Sorry but affiliate marketing is just like any other business. It requires skill, resources and effort to work. I've countered each of your points below. There is no risk involved for you whatsoever - This is a neophyte comment. There is no such thing as "no risk" for anything on God's earth. Risk CANNOT be eliminated, it can only managed. There are no products to buy - I assume you mean buying inventory here. This is really a wash from a business standpoint but it does help from a cashflow standpoint. If you sell an affiliate product you DO NOT control the sale price so you can't increase profits by increasing the price or have fire sale discounts. The profit you make from affiliate products is really the same as buying inventory and reselling them for a margin. In exchange for the risk of purchasing inventory you have the option of manipulating the product price. No money to invest - You can't make sales without quality traffic and all quality traffic costs something. Time, money or both. You can start without even the most basic knowledge of marketing - I think the responses to your comments above prove that you need at least a basic understanding of both business and marketing. ...pick up soap box exit stage right. Good luck!
Thank you for commenting on the points listed. Every entrepreneur begins his dream with an internal drive. Risks are part of the fueling energy. We are here to share knowledge and encourage others who are beginning that journey. Attacking levels of knowledge in business doesn't show professionalism or leadership. I think we are trying help someone who is asking for help. I do agree with you that there is risk. Just beginning is a risk. There are programs that can be researched for free thereby eliminating the risk of spending that mighty dollar for a program that tells you nothing that you don't already know. That's one risk that beginners don't need to take. I recommend looking and researching free programs before you spend a dime. When I speak of products I'm not talking of physical inventory. The prices on affiliate products can't be increased, I agree. When you're just beginning in this hungry world, finances in most cases are limited and most people are turning to home based businesses for hope and a secure future. So testing and researching products in and out of different markets is part of the journey. This is the walk of those that don't have a business or marketing degree. It's call trial and error. I will say research your market first before you plunge. Traffic, you have to have it! Yes there's a price. This is one area where a lot of research must be done. In this business you want to put your product in front of audiences that are looking for the products or services that you are advertising. You will pay for that unless you already have a huge network that you can put your goods in front of. Starting without the basic knowledge is where most people who have never been to college start. You research programs(Free) and gain knowledge as you go along. Don't get discouraged because youRe not the first one to start this journey and you will not be the last. Bottom line is hopefully you will be doing a lot of research before you spend any money. All of the material looks good. Make sure you have goals and objectives before you begin or you'll be on that treadmill moving fast going nowhere fast! EnjoynLife
Note, this is a forum so members are free to post opinions contrary to yours, and that does not make it an attack, though I would consider your comments about professionalism and leadership as such. Also, no one actually "asked" for your help but if they did I think having more than one opinion from a neophyte is even more helpful. In conclusion, your comments are vague, lofty and even contradictory in some cases. If you want to help I would recommend listing sources for real advice on the topic of affiliate marketing vs. offering your own. Here's one such resource: http://www.superaffiliatemindset.com/ Good luck!
