I am concerned about a few "dangerous ideas" of Ron Paul...
    1. His stance on Gun Control - increased risk for policemen
    2. His stance on banning abortions - thats anti-libertarian...
    3. He wants to withdraw immediately from Iraq - that'd be a disaster

But he is good at economics... :)

Ok as i gun owner i have to step in

Let me ask you something, who would be a risk to policemen, criminals or law abiding citizens?

Criminals right...ok if the laws were changed and made guns hard to get or banned all togeter, who will abide to this law? Law abiding citizens right...ok...therefore the criminals, will not abide to this law, why? because they are criminals and do not abide to the law, therefore it would do no good. However it puts another group of people in serious danger. Now the law abiding citizen has no way to protect himself or his family from this criminal that doesnt care about gun law.

To sum it up, a gun ban would only work for those abiding the law, criminals would still find ways to obtain them just like they find ways to obtain drugs. But now, with a gun ban, the law abiding citizen is a sitting duck.

and as for abortion, its murder, who are we to decide who lives and dies, also, abortion encourages sex. If you dont have the option to get rid of your child if you happen to get pregnant, than maybe you will think twice about having sex when you aren't ready.

As for the war, its my only true fear about Ron Paul.

    gauharjk,

    1) Gun control doesn't prevent criminals from obtaining guns, just law abiding citizens. Explain how removing restrictions on law abiding citizens is going to make a more dangerous environment for police?

    2) Ron Paul believes life begins at conception and the babies right to life trumps a womans right to "choose". However, he is not for having the Federal government involved in the equation and making the decision for you.

    3) This was a good read:

Is she cute? No, but she has a nice personality..

1-3 are probably the biggest reasons why NOT to vote for RP... He, like many other ding dong drones out there are touting an immediate withdraw from Iraq without even exploring the consequences... This is done and said for no other reason than to pander...

That's blatantly false that it is to pander. He's had the same position on Iraq going back to 2002. In fact, on foreign policy, he's had the same positions since he first ran in 1974.

And he's been right, time after time, after time.

The "immediate withdrawal" would not even start being planned for 12 calendar months. By then the Iraq war will have gone longer than WWII. If progress hasn't been made so we can bring the troops home naturally, then it is time to withdraw.

I thought you were pro 2nd amendment?
He wants abortion on the state level, I thought that was your stance as well? Or do you think the feds should control this issue such as it is now?

He has had the same stance on the war from the beginning, that's not even close to 'pandering'
