Why Send My Blog Feed to Facebook Fanpage?

Hi, I recently started a new blog! I sell a few items on this blog. Than I go and set up a facebook fanpage. Than I feed my blog post into my Facebook fanpage. It works awesome, everytime I post on my blog it is immediately updated on my facebook fanpage wall. My question is should I be doing this? Because I want to drive traffic to my blog, if the people read it on my facebook fanpage, there is no reason for them to visit my blog! I notice John Chow and many others don't updated their facebook fanpage with posts from their blogs. Please let me know what you think!

Good question. I'm curious though, if your facebook fanpage is essentially the same as your blog, then why do you need to drive traffic to your blog from your fanpage? People could just as easily purchase through your fanpage as they could through your blog. Just a thought. I'll try to think over this more and see if I can help you out with ideas. Best of luck to you.

I agree with Danny. Whether traffic goes to your blog or goes to Facebook is pretty much irrelevant, although this depends on how you are monetizing your blog. If you're purely trying for Adsense revenue then of course you want the traffic to your blog rather than sending them to Facebook and clicking on their ads. Are you selling a product/service or simply going for ad revenue?

Thanks for your help! I appreciate you trying to help me. Basically I sell a service, sports betting picks! Here is what I do, I post multiple stories per day. Usually about 10 Sports stories, 10 Youtube videos and about 5 basic sports betting picks. At the bottom of every single post is a paypal link for my Premium Picks. Thats why...I think....that I need people to visit my blog instead of only Facebook. To my knowledge on Facebook, my paypal link can only be posted (due HTML??) on either the Welcome page or on the left hand sidebar....either way it is not very visable. On my site, I make it very visable becuase it is included at the bottom of every single post! So my problem now is I have all these fans who just check out my FB fanpage wall. Should i continue to post everything to my wall...or only update it once a day. I would love to continue to update in with every post...because I can clearly see the traffic and fans it drives after every wall update, I just need a way to aggressively display my paypal link on my wall....or even my aweber subscription form on my FB wall? It has to be on my wall page because thats where all my fans go and stay! any thoughts?

Interesting. A quick-ish solution would be to hire someone who is experienced with fbml (Facebook's html) and consult them about it. I'm quite sure that they could help you with this.

    Hope this helps.
