More politicians should follow her lead. She got in, got the job done and moved on. Just think if arsholes like Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and others would get in and out. Serve (SERVE) your time, and move on. Serve the people and leave. There is no reason these people should stay in office as long as they do. Pelosi has NEVER taken a beating in the press. She's nothing but praised. And Hillary? Who could feel sorry for her. Her goal was power, not fidelity. I have to seriously question ones sanity when they make statements like this.
So why have terms of 4 years, if everyone should quit in 3 ? If she was doing such a great job, why did she subcomb to the realization that there was no way in hell she would be elected for a second term ? There was too much heat and unrest for her to even finish the first. Oh, so now I'm insane for having a differing opinion than yours ? No wonder the Republican party is so out of touch with everyone else in the country if this is the mindset of it's loyal cult followers. You know, you can't dismiss everyone and everything just by the party the belong to. That is the reason we can't get anything done in Congress now. It's not about the issues, it's about the party and that is a ridiculously asinine way to think when the common goal is supposed to be the people you represent, all the people, not just the ones that are registered Republicans. For me to just attack everything Republican as a whole without taking each issue on it's merits is a very narrow minded way to exist. Sure, I believe the party as a whole is stuck in some 1950's time warp of the way they think America should be, and not based on the way America is, but I don't think all Republicans are wrong simply based on the party they belong to. You seriously sound like Archie bunker sometimes ("if you don't believe what I believe, you must be an idiot") , and he was supposedly a fictional character.
I agree with you, Harold - as I mentioned to you, I earlier posted this, but deleted it as there isn't the slimmest chance in hell Mia is capable of hearing anything approaching reasonable discourse. But, what the hell - perhaps others will find some usefulness here: My earlier post: Astounding. Palin bails on her job, citing (whining) the "unfair media" as one principal reason, Hmansfield writes well on this and other matters, deserves an honorable consideration and reply, and ole' Jer once again turns to calling another member, in this instance, Hmansfield, insane. Makes perfect sense. About as much as "I got foreign policy experience, 'cuz I can see Russia from my backyard (wink)" Palin stepping into the preziduncy. The hypocrisy is astounding. I think it's a truism: true conservatives have nothing to do with the rightist section of religious bigotry currently scratching for its lifeline in the GOP; and here, Palin is a perfect representation of the limited thought, myopic worldview, and dangerously simplistic mind for whom Goldwater had this to say: -Yet the same folks who spend vast hours, days, months, years, trying to prove Obama is actually a muslim terrorist ("I just know he is; I have proof. I have proof; I, uh..."), or emblazening the front pages of their blogs with bold letters of glee should a political "enemy" (here, that would mean most people) fart in public, tap dance in trying to explain away the fact a Palin ran for the hills just as the tide of public support in her home state turned against her, with ethics probes and a cornucopia of other crap coming home to roost.
