So, I primarily use Amazon text links, and place those on my sites and blogs. From my understanding, they drop a little cookie onto the persons computer that clicks through to the Amazon product. Anything they buy within 24 hours, I get credit. So why promote an aStore? Why not just put Amazon affiliate links in your website/blog and promote that? Is there some special reason for promoting an aStore, or is it just considered another source of potential revenue? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
You may be right, Junki, these are two major causes. Moreover Astore is fairly easy-to-use and handy service though it requires improvement by Amazon developers
I agree that the astore is free and easy to use. But so are Omkase, text links, and the other Amazon affiliate codes. My question is why promote an astore specifically. Why not just put Amazon affiliate codes on your site and promote that? Especially if the astore is hard to get indexed.
In case your visitor is not looking for the exact product in your text link, aStore provides far more product selections. And I agreed that it's not easy to get indexed.
Man, this post reminded me to have a look at some old astores of mine. This one has PR3 and ranks no.1 for "MTB gadgets"!! BUT, sales in the last year: 2... Go figure...
You could always pay for cheap webhosting and then embed the aStore code in your website. That's how you could more easily index it and work on the SEO of it. Otherwise, it's pretty tough.
Well, my aStore has been indexed and all I did was do some social bookmarking and backlinking. Now, just to start getting sales. I'm still confused on it as a stand alone affiliate product.
