Why press release and Directory submission important ?

    Hi
    i have travel website and monitoring all google SEO points. But when i am reading seo articles and forums so some people saying "press release and Directory submission" not important and some saying these are important. I am optimizing Social media as well but little confused about "press release and Directory submission" not got any perfect answer.

    Recent post about press release searchengineland(dot)com/google-panda-4-0-go-press-release-sites-192789 may help you to know PR. Press release and Directory submission is still important if we pick good sites for promotion.
