Why PR4?

    www.googletalkforum.com now has PR4. I wonder why? It has two links from PR4 sites (both of which are on the same IP as googletalkforum.com), and one link from a PR6 page, but no further links that I know of. Is that really all it takes to get PR4?

    1 pr 6 can get you a pr 4 as long as their isn't alot of other links.

    Yeah the PR from the PR6 did it. Now if they didn't have other links and just the PR 6 it might very well be a PR5

    Are you saying that if the PR4 sites weren't linking to the forum, just the PR6 site, that the PR might be PR5? In other words, does any link from a lower PR site hurt your PR?

    BTW accessoriesthatrock . com seems to show as PR0, I'm using this to check PRs: http://checkpagerank.com/

    No, all links help. I don't remember where, but somewhere I saw a chart of what pr links lead to a certain pr. It was something like 1,000 pr 1 links to get to a PR4 and only 1 PR5 to get to a PR4

    If you did that in Google it may not show all backlinks. Try Yahoo and MSN.

    Googl gives you a pr 3-5 sometimes even if you dont have any backlinks. quality/content is also important.

    No quality/content is not important. PR is solely based on incoming links.
