Not better, but quicker. SEO takes time. PPC can be immediate. You need both - you can't win a war with just air power.
PPC is better than SEO because through PPC you can generate revenue easily while SEO takes a months before you can get a revenue. But SEO is for long term use and you can be visible on the search engine but PPC needs more techniques and efforts before you got a good results.
You can't have both from my own experience as a marketer, at least not as one campaign, you can have both for 2 different campaign, one for SEO and one for PPC why? because you can't use the same site for SEO purposes and PPC, because of duplicate content stuff and other penalties . PPC rocks man!
Check out the rest of this guy's posts. He's asked (in separate threads) why is google, yahoo, search live the best search engine. And in yet another thread he's asked what is the best domain name. I find that this is useless post building
PPC has been too expensive for our 'corporate file sharing' site... $12 for some keywords are just too much... Sticking with SEO for this one.
PPC has to be the starting point for all retailers thats for sure. SEO is great, but its time consuming. I once did a bit of research where I tweaked a few phrases (took me ages) right up to the No. 1 spot - I kept on top of it for months... it stayed there. It created next to nothing in returns, but the PPC - much lower down on the list too as a cheap search term brought return after return. Makes you wonder if all the hours on SEO are worth it at times. People just love the sponsored links. Another good thing about sponsored links too is that you know they are all up to date and current.
SEO gives the result after many days, wait until the result comes but PPC will start ur revenue immediately. But, In PPC we have to follow several techniques to be front in all other competitors. We have to quote max CPC and many.... to gain good rank in Google Ads. To find How are ads ranked? Just follow the link and gain the Knowledge on Google Adwords. http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=6111
I like PPC. in PPC sites you may earn speedily instead of SEO. SEO is also good but it takes some time. If you earn quick money then use PPC only.
PPC is great for immediate traffic needs. Proper SEO will help to reduce your PPC costs over time, and brings a much higher ROI in the long run.
PPC is great for testing wither or not to chase up keywords with an SEO campaign. Testing saves time and justifies the investment a time consuming SEO campaign can take. I've recently posted about this and other benefits of using Google AdWords at http://www.ebusiness-adviser.co.uk/2008/09/02/google-adwords-basics/.
Short Term: PPC Long Term: SEO SEO is contant work you can't be the first on your market in search engine for life... A++
We run both for two different niches but have only had good results for SEO. PPC gets you immediate exposure but if you are in a competitive market your cost per click can eat all of your profits away. We have just dropped 2 PPC campaigns after analyzing the results.
PPC is a good way to get traffic when your starting off. However, can be costly. SEO takes longer, and is cheaper. SEO is more rewarding as you see your hard work paying off. I have read on many forums that it is better to have a mixture of both .
Yep PPC is quicker and SEO is free but takes longer and more work. Overall with many websites where you are selling products instead of having content you need to have both to get instant leads and not have to wait for months or even a year to get results through SEO.
PPC delivers instant results! SEO is worth it if you plan on maintaining and updating the site often.
