What includes this dinner ? Simply it probably no less than $30 for a nice dinner in Ukraine in restaurant per person. up to $100 depending on $5 - price of big mac menu in Mac
I dont think that $500 can get you a decent living even in India I think 'decent living' is a very subjective term so maybe your thinking about 'decent living' is different to that of mine.
It may be not in your locality.. but in our area.. Hyderabad. you buy car, house only one time .. not every month Potato chips here : Rs.5 Hyderabadi famous Biryani : Rs. 100
Yes, house most probably one-time, car, ok let's assume also one, not great conditions of driving the same car for 20 years and more, but ok. And which car you can buy for salary of $500 in India ? Remember to exclude food, house/rent, etc.
$5 includes everything except wine/beer. Suppose you got out for a dinner with your friend, you can easily get 2 dishes (maybe veg or non-veg) alongwith salad and different breads (we call it naan/roti here) and all that for about $10
oh cmon, how can you buy a house in hyderabad if you have a monthly income of Rs. 20,000 ?? You cannot even buy a decent car, forget about the house or even an apartment. Imported items do cost the same here if not more. the point is that things which are manufactured in india are cheaper because of cheap labour and very few overheads.
Can I know where you live ?? in India ?? and Please explain what "decent" means.. and what should we have to be called decent...?
Well, I think it doesn't include meat + additions to eat or include ? Nintendo Wii is from $450 to $550.
tendulkar2, not in India, but in country with very similar economics, well a little better probably. Decent is to allow yourself at least such things I described IMO.
Ok.... sorry then,.. In our place, if someone has a car, big house, swimming pool, and Rs.60,000+ salary... they are called as rich people. It may vary in your area or other parts of India. thanks.
In my opinion Decent living means, having a car which suits you and your family needs, living in an urban area (maybe in a rented house), Sending your children to a good school, going out in a restaurant maybe once in a week, going on a vacation atleast once a year and saving some amount of money for future uncertainties.
let me take care of this question. well rent here varies from $25-$70 food of 1 whole month doesn't costs more then $100. (for 1 men)
Yep, atoztoa nailed it, I am not talking about driving latest Audi and wearing D&G, eating in restaurants everyday and have a big swimming pool. But minimum level of comfort should be meet to call this "decent".
You get what you pay for in my opinion if you buy cheap its likely the quality of the service will match unless its a loss leader for someone to build their rep. I've done the same locally in the off line market but its taking me so much time to make nigh on nothing I won't be doing it again. The first time I moved up to a profitable price the offer was declined Paul
$1 is around Rs 10 if we consider PPP (Purchasing Power Parity). In other words making $300 in India is like making $1200 in US.
sachin410, I wroted such thing about hundreds of time in DP, nobody listen, they think if you exchange $1 to 40Rs you already rich dude automatically
lol.. for that much money.. here any company can hire even a management level guys. or highly skilled programmers.
