Only problem today it's $20/day not $2, but I got your point, and in some cases still no, but let it be. Even Nicaragua have $200/month income in average based on CIA.

After I have read on CIA website that USA won World War II which is laughable at best I really have to end my arguing:)

Some people need to realize their worth and that the things they know are bringing in big dollar amounts. They are ripping themselves off and, as was stated, ruining the market for the rest of us.

I get $50 an hour for consulting work alone.

What they are doing is mentally dictating what someone else's bottom line price is. There are real professionals out there willing to fork over big bucks for the things we do.

    Don't sell yourselves short!

Remember the mantra of sales: SW SW SW SW

    SW: Some will

    SW: Some won't

    SW: So what?

    SW: Someone's waiting

    Regards,

    Tony

I think they can't write original copy anyway. So why not get money from free articles, in other words - what to lose ? - that whole philosophy.

If you were referring to my post, well I was stating my experience. I'm not being racist or anything, I just noticed that it frequently happens with Indians (or maybe it's just some Indians here on DP?).

Because things like writing for cash is very over populated and everyone wants to be the cheapest to make the most money.

I would say that it seems this way because DP seemed to have a greater proportion of Indians.

Exactly!!! ... I'm only new here but bottom line is that I'd rather pay more for quality not quantity. Like if I paid someone pennies for something it would lower my expectations by orders of magnitude....

I dont think you can blame Indians or anyone else for that matter.
Though I dont work for pennies, but I know some people do and that is because those 'pennies' is a lot of money for those people.

I am an Indian so I can tell you that if a student or whosoever is doing a part time business in the internet world, makes $300 per month, it is a lot of money for him.

    $1 = Rs 40 approx.

you can get a McDonanld burger for Rs. 20 (thats 50 cents)
You can get a packet of potato chips for Rs. 20
you can get a bottle of Coke/Pepsi for Rs. 10
You can eat a proper lunch/dinner in a very good restaurant (I am not talking about 5 star hotels) for about Rs. 200 per head (thats just $5)
and all other stuff that a person of age 16-22 needs is very cheap here.

I am not talking about making a living out of $300 per month, its virtually impossible to make a decent living for $300 per month in India. For a decent living you need atleast $1500 per month.

So how can you blame a particular community ?
I think its called business and it is due to globalization.
Obviously People will prefer cheap rates but only if they are satisfied with the work. I think the Business Mantra is 'Perform or Perish'. If you cannot compete in the market then I dont think so that you are fit enough to run that business.

I am not talking about the bottle of 2 litres of coke
I am talking about the bottle of 300 ml of coke

Bottle of 2 litres of coke cost about Rs. 45-50 here

Potato chips are about 40rs as well cause it's very very small pack then, not sure about Burger:)

And moreover about nice meal in very good restaurant for $5. You mean $50 kinda, right ? $5 for dinner in restaurant sounds a bit fishy even in India, but would be curious to know about it more:)

Lol.. $1500 is Rs.63,000+ which is far more than Decent.
For decent living $500 is more than enough in my town.. with 24hr AC facility.

I am living in India, small packet of potato chips cost Rs 10 and the big one costs Rs. 20

I have been to US a couple of times so I can easily compare the cost of these things.

And It is $5 (not $50) for a dinner in a very good restaurant.

tendulak2, decent living also including traveling and ability to buy not bad car, are you agree with me ? Not only rent+food. $500 is going almost nowhere nowadays.
